MSME Foundation
The Foundation provides and enable the provision of services in the areas of advocacy, advice, training and research by collaborating with international agencies, government institutions, financial institutions, banks, academic institutions, technical bodies, industry associations, non-government organizations and corporate firms interested in MSME development through sub-contracting and sourcing.
MSME Foundation work towards:
1. Designing cluster based MSME development initiatives
2. Mapping clusters in regions and countries.
3. Conceptualisation and implementation of related training programmes.
4. Monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment of cluster initiatives.
5. Innovative action research in cluster development.
6. Development of Business Development Services (BDS).
7. Institutional capacity building for cluster based development.
8. Capacity building initiatives for industrial associations and non-government organisations.
9. Undertaking policy and implementation research in cluster development.
During its one year of existence, the Foundation has undertaken the following activities:
- Organized the first National Convention on Cluster Development for Competitiveness and Poverty Alleviation in December 2005 with the participation of more than 60 national and international institutions
- Published a book called: Getting to know clusters, Frequently asked questions
- Published a book called: Making clusters work, UNIDO methodology
- Published a book called: Working Together Works, Cluster Case Studies
- Created a Policy paper on Cluster Development in India,
