Some of the important clusters in Pakistan are Surgical Instruments (Sialkot), Sports Goods (Sialkot), Autoparts (Karachi), Electrical Appliances (Karachi), Electrical Appliances (Lahore), Knitwear (Karachi), Knitwear (Lahore). The Pakistani clusters of electrical fans (Gujarat) and farm machinery (Daska) are also well known.

Pakistan faces a number of structural and institutional challenges in the development of its Small and Medium Enterprise (SMEs) sector.

To help overcome these difficulties, UNIDO has initiated the Cluster Development Project in close consultation with public and private sector stakeholders and counterparts. The project is being implemented in several phases.
